The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the Saturday Governorship election in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu has been confirmed dead.
 Audu was said to have complained of stomach ache on Saturday shortly after voting and returning to his country home in Ogbonicha, Ofu Local government, and was advised to take a rest.

Nigeria is losing N256bn ($1.3bn) in foreign exchange inflows every month as a result of the global fall in the prices of crude oil, the country’s major revenue earner.

AIRTEL NIGERIA SACKS 30 PERCENT OF ITS WORKFORCE


One of Nigeria’s telecoms companies, Airtel, has sacked 30 per cent of its workforce.

It was gathered that the affected employees from some departments, who were ‘caught unawares,’ received their sack letters last Friday.

“We were served the sack letters on Friday and as I received my letter, I just walked out,” says one of the affected workers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Army foils fresh Boko Haram attack in Maiduguri

Nigeria’s army on Monday said it had foiled a planned Boko Haram attack on the northeastern city of Maiduguri using powerful assault rifles and home-made bombs.
Army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman said in a statement that “nine terrorists sneaked into Maiduguri armed with AK-47 assault rifles and (a) Hilux vehicle laden with 20 improvised explosive devices”.
