Subscribers besiege Kubwa MTN office, threaten manager

Hundreds of subscribers yesterday besieged the MTN office in Phase 4, Kubwa, demanding to know why their GSM lines were suddenly blocked.
The subscribers, who thronged the telecommunication office as early as 8.00a.m. expressed displeasure over the ugly development, threatening to lynch the manager if nothing urgent was done.

City News learnt that it took the intervention of the police who were deployed immediately to calm the nerves of the angry protesters and restore peace within the area.
Some of the protesters who spoke to City News said they woke up that morning to discover that their lines had been blocked, even when the lines had been duly registered.
They said they were tired of frequenting the organisation for one complaint or another, even at the expense of their official schedules.
“It is not up to two months I spent some days here trying to resolve my SIM-card registration problem. See me here again for another issue,” a customer who gave his name as Ichegbo said.
The man, who described the situation as frustrating, threatened to dump his MTN line for another line if he was unable to receive positive attention at the end of the day.
A staff of the organisation, who spoke in confidence to our reporter, said the customers had been assured of being attended to, just as she urged them to exercise patience and maintain orderliness.
