Ex-NSA man Edward Snowden gets web job in Russia

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has found a new job, his lawyer says.

The former US spy agency contractor will work for a major private website in Russia, where he was granted asylum after fleeing the United States.

"Edward starts work in November," his lawyer Anatoly Kucherena told the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

Mr Snowden, 30, fled to Russia in June after leaking details of far-reaching US telephone espionage.

Burial of First Lady’s mother: Police beef up security in Port Harcourt

SECURITY has been beefed in Port Harcourt, Okrika, Eleme and other adjourning local government areas in Rivers State, ahead of the funeral of the foster mother of wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Madam Charity Oba, which begins today with a service of songs.

The road leading to the Port Harcourt Polo club, venue of the service of songs was being rehabilitated, yesterday, with traffic diverted to other routes. At the Polo club, canopies were already being erected for the service of songs.

There was heavy police presence on all roads in the area. At the residence of the late Madam Oba, there were about two police patrol vehicles stationed close to the building with heavy security presence in and outside the building on King Perekule Street, GRA, Port Harcourt.

President Jonathan Places Oduah on "Technical Suspension"

President Goodluck Jonathan may have placed the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, on “tactical suspension,” findings by The PUNCH have revealed.

A reliable Presidency source said Jonathan decided on the “tactical suspension,” hours before the signing of the Bilateral Air Service Agreement between Nigeria and Israel on Monday.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Mr. George Ossi, had on October 24 told the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation that Oduah led a Nigerian delegation to Israel to sign the BASA.

The ringleader of a white supremacist plot to assassinate Nelson Mandela and drive black people out of South Africa has been sentenced to 35 years in jail, state media have reported.

Jonathan is the main target of attack on Stella Oduah-Group says

National President of Niger Delta Good Governance Forum, Lt.-Col. Satchie Etoromi (rtd), yesterday, said that President Goodluck Jonathan was the main target of those attacking the Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah, over the controversial N255 million bullet proof cars, ahead of the 2015 general elections.

He urged the President to ignore calls for the removal of the minister over the controversy, adding what she did was legal.

Gov Suntai goes to church, one-year after air crash survival

Recuperating Governor of  Taraba State, Danbaba Danfulani Suntai caused an emotional scene when he stormed the Unity Chapel Church (UCC) in Government House, Jalingo for thanks giving at the weekend.

Suntai was pronounced dead when an aircraft he piloted crashed near Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Thursday, October 25 last year.

He spent 10 months in Germany and United States hospitals for treatment, returning on August 25.

He wrote the House of Assembly of his readiness to resume duty but was stopped by the lawmakers on health grounds.

David Beckham, Son Brooklyn,Involved In Car Accident

 

 

David Bekham and his son Brooklyn, 14, have been involved in a car accident. The incident occurred outside the driveway of the family's Beverly Hills mansion on Saturday, Oct. 26, but the father-son duo seemed to have not suffered any injuries from the accident. (X17 first reported the news).

Photos at the scene also show the damaged Range Rover after the collision. The black car was left with the entire front fender torn off and left dragging on the pavement. 

Lola Omotayo just had a Bachelorette Party

Peter Okoye of P-Square's fiancee, Lola Omotayo's bachelorette party took place yesterday October 26th, 2013 in Lagos. Their traditional marriage will hold on November 17th, 2013.

Peter Okoye who has two children (Cameron - 5, and Aliona - 9months) with long-time girlfriend, Lola Omotayo, proposed to her sometime in August with a Range Rover SUV, a bouquet of flower and a diamond ring.
