FG flags off $350m SEEFOR project to address unemployment



Federal Government yesterday launched the State Employment and Expenditure for Results SEEFOR project worth about $350 million.
The pilot project is to be financed by credit of $200 million by the World Bank and has attracted additional financial support of about {80 million from the European Union, EU.

Lightning kills pregnant woman, man in Benue



A pregnant women (names withheld) and a middle aged man, identified as Barber, were, yesterday, killed by lightning during a downpour in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.
Vanguard gathered from eyewitnesses that the deceased persons were both operating a business premises at a popular hotel on Gboko West area of the town when they met their untimely death.
According to an eyewitness, the victims had close shop for the day and where locking up their business premises at 7p.m. when they were simultaneously struck.

Bird turns to old woman in Lagos



Residents of Ajegunle area of Lagos were, yesterday, thrown into shock, after a bird was said to have transformed into an old woman who confessed to being a witch.
The dark-complexioned nonagenarian with tribal marks, who spoke in Yoruba, told a bewildered crowd that she was on her way back to Ibadan, Oyo State (as a bird) when she missed her track.

48 killed in fresh Borno attacks, Chibok schoolgirls sighted in Chad



No fewer than 48 people were killed by insurgent group, Boko Haram, in Shawa and Alagarno villages of Askira Cuba and Damboa local government areas of Borno State, respectively.
The attackers also carted away food items after setting ablaze almost all houses in the villages.
