South Africans Bring Back The 2008 Xenophobia

While Africans are looking for every possible way to fight Boko Haram and the Islamist Al-shaabab group,South Africans all of a sudden start burning and butchering other Africans foreigners in their country.

Many of these south Africans defend their actions by accusing foreigners of taking jobs that are meant for them whereas unemployment in south Africa is estimated to be 24%

This attack actually started in 2008 where the poor south African masses with machetes and torches killed many black foreigners for the same reason. In just two weeks,60 people were killed and many injured.South Africa been left under serious damages after the 2008 incident is faced with another bloody situation. Two weeks ago the 2008 incident started repeating itself with 5 people dead and more than 70 injured.

Everyone is pointing fingers at the Zulu King, Goodwill Zwelithini for instigating the riots with his his comment " foreigners should go back to their countries". His spokesperson Prince Thulani Zulu tells AFP news agency "The king is saddened by what is happening. He never thought something of this nature could happen" the king says his intention was not provoke such situation.

The south African government is not in support of this and has put in place the police to maintain peace and order. President Zuma has not said nothing yet but many foreigners are leaving south Africa already. Those that have the means actually leave the country while the poor ones seek refuge in refugee camps.

While thousands of south Africans are matching and protesting against this inhuman treatment, some high authorities have already reacted to it.
