The Yobe
Government on Thursday donated N100 million to assist victims of Boko Haram
attack at the Federal Government College in Buni-Yadi.
It also
deployed security operatives and vigilante groups to search for missing
students.
The
Chairman of the Committee set up by the State Government to assist the victims
and Commissioner for Justice, Ahmed Goniri, said this during his visit to the
college.
Goniri
said his committee would liaise with the school’s authority to ascertain the
number of those missing and also meet with their parents.
He said
that the committee would assess the extent of damage and advise government on
areas of assistance.
The
chairman solicited the support and co-operation of traditional rulers and
citizens to provide useful information to security agencies with the hope to
trace the missing students.
The
college was attacked on Feb, 25 by insurgents during which many students were
killed. (NAN)
