Chris
Brown is trying to get back on the straight and narrow. One day after his
release from jail on misdemeanor assault charges, the "Don't Judge
Me" singer, 24, has decided to voluntarily check himself into rehab to
deal with some personal issues, his rep says in a statement .
The news
comes at a crucial time for the controversial star, who was released from jail
on Monday, Oct. 28, following his arrest for an alleged assault in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
According to a police report, Brown and his bodyguard were involved in an
altercation with another man outside the W Hotel after the man tried to join a
picture with the Grammy-winning singer. The report claims that Brown made a homophobic remark to the alleged victim -- "I'm
not down with that gay s--t" -- before reportedly punching him in the
face.
